An Inspiration to Many

Margaret Romph was in a car accident on January 2nd, 2009, and as a result, she was left paralyzed from the neck down and on a ventilator. Margaret spent a lot of her life after the accident in doctor’s offices and hospitals, but she always found a way to make the best of it.

She loved watching movies, coloring, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Margaret left this world on May 6th, 2019, after a long and incredible fight.

During her short fifteen years of life on this earth, Margaret lived each day to the fullest and inspired so many people along the way. She had the gift of always being able to bring a smile to someone’s face and a laugh to their day, and she brought a tremendous light to this world that will continue to last a lifetime.

Her spunk, infectious smile, incredible personality, positivity, and sweet heart of gold made the world a better place.

Margaret loved life.

She had a knack for making people smile and laugh, and she could always find the positive in every situation. She was sassy and spunky, and she had a personality that would light up a room. She brought many smiles to those around her!

Some of the things Margaret loved included:

  • Her family and friends, being an Aunt
  • Cheer, MizzouThon, Dancing
  • OU Gymnastics. Her favorite gymnast was Maggie Nichols.
  • Soft, fuzzy blankets. She even had names for some of her blankets.
  • The color purple
  • Her dog, Lucky. He loved to hop up on her and sit in her lap.
  • Baking cupcakes were her favorite but she would bake many different things. She knew recipes by heart.
  • Getting her face painted at events
  • Painting She went to a ceramics store in town and painted whatever we would let her. She even went to classes for some of the items that she painted.
  • Coloring She had a ton of colored pencils and gel pens to go with all of her coloring books.
  • Going to movies and eating movie popcorn. She would often send her dad and grandma to go pick up movie popcorn because she liked it so much.
  • Stuffed animals, Purple Pandas and Build-A-Bears She had lots of stuffed animals that filled her entire bed. She slept with a lot of them and carried some around with her on her chair every day. She especially liked the bunny and bear Build-A-Bears.
  • Disney movies The Descendants movies were a big favorite for her.
  • Radiothon She would go to this at the children’s hospital with her mom and they would tell her story to radio stations. This event helped to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network.
